Spring Budget Seminar- Edenmore Golf & Country Club – 12 March 2024

We are delighted, together with our joint event sponsors, Lumen Financial Planning, to be able to welcome all our friends to our review of Jeremy Hunt's Spring Budget. Spaces are limited, so please register as soon as possible Registration Link .

The Spring Budget, scheduled for 6th March 2024, is eagerly anticipated, and there’s already speculation about potential measures. Here’s what Chancellor Jeremy Hunt could announce:

Cuts to Income Tax:

The Chancellor may consider further cuts to national insurance or even a 2p reduction in income tax.

A 2p cut in income tax for someone earning £35,000 would leave them £448 better off annually, while someone earning £60,000 would have an extra £9481.

However, these cuts may be offset by the impact of frozen tax thresholds (fiscal drag).

Inheritance Tax (IHT) Overhaul:

With an election looming, there’s speculation about changes to IHT.

The government might overhaul or even abolish IHT.

Currently, estates can leave up to £325,000 tax-free to beneficiaries, with anything over taxed at 40%1.

Child Benefit Changes:

Specific adjustments to child benefit eligibility or rates could be on the horizon.

Lifetime ISAs (LISAs):

Potential changes to Lifetime ISAs may affect savers and investors.
